This highly acclaimed wine from Yarra Yering displays a deep, bright dark crimson hue with an opaque black-red core, giving it a bold and expressive character. Crafted from the finest Shiraz, Viognier, Marsanne, and Mataro grapes, Yarra Yering Dry Red No.2 is a rare blend that will delight any wine enthusiast. It has received a 96-point rating from Wine Companion, a testament to its excellence.

The nose is greeted by intensely aromatic notes of strawberries, floral hints, violet, and black cherry, which dance elegantly in the glass. Subtle earthy cedar undertones seamlessly combine to enhance the wine’s refreshing aromatic profile. On the palate, it boasts a delicate, graphite-like structure, perfectly balanced acidity, and a long finish with gentle tannins, soft dry cloves, and earthy spices. This red wine is indispensable for lovers seeking depth and intensity.

The grapes are hand-harvested, with 95% Shiraz, which are first destemmed before being placed whole into fermenters. Some stems are returned during fermentation to enhance the aromatic profile. Certain varietals, including Viognier and Marsanne, are aged in French oak barrels for 15 months before blending and bottling. This wine pairs beautifully with beef and game.
